On November 8, Sanford Watson participated in “When They See Us,” an 8-hour CLE program of the Greater Cleveland Delta Foundation Life Development Center. The program was inspired by the 1989 “Central Park Five” tragedy and included excerpts from the Netflix series written and produced by Ava Duvernay. The speakers went beyond emotion to examine the legal issues that arose in the case, including racial profiling, prosecutorial discretion, and police tactics, and concluded the program with a panel discussion.
