On March 18, Dan Messeloff and Savannah Fox gave a seminar on “The Most Common Payroll Mistakes, and How Legal Guidance Can Fix Them” to the Miami Valley (Dayton) Chapter of the American Payroll Association (APA). In their presentation, Dan and Savannah addressed frequent legal violations and their potential consequences, including wage-and-hour lawsuits. They discussed a range of issues, including participants’ survey responses that indicated that payroll professionals are most worried about misclassifying their employees as exempt from overtime pay. Dan and Savannah concluded by offering practical guidance on how to prevent violations in the future, and what to do if they occur.
