On April 20, Brian Brookey and Kelsey Ewing presented “VLSI Technology v. Intel : Sometimes the Zombie Wins” to the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA). In exploring the $2.18 billion patent-infringement verdict, Kelsey and Brian covered the history of the case, the unusual damages theory that resulted in one of the largest patent damages awards in history, and what lessons can be drawn from that result.
