On October 15, Carter Strang spoke in his capacity as Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation President at the Judge Perry Jackson Statue Dedication Ceremony. The new statue of Judge Jackson, the first elected Black judge in Ohio history, stands in the main lobby of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.

In his remarks, Carter stated that the statue and Judge Jackson’s legacy will serve as an inspiration to the urban school children who benefit from the Foundation’s support of the bar association’s award-winning pipeline diversity programs. The Foundation served as custodian of the funds used for the statue and provided fundraising and other advice.
