On February 18, Dan Messeloff and Savannah Fox presented to the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Chapter of the American Payroll Association. In their presentation, “The Most Common Payroll Mistakes, and How Legal Guidance Can Fix Them,” Dan and Savannah addressed the most frequent sources of legal violations and their potential consequences, including wage-and-hour lawsuits. They discussed a range of issues, including participants’ survey responses that indicated that payroll professionals are most worried about misclassifying their employees as exempt from overtime pay, as well as maintaining proper records. Dan and Savannah concluded by sharing guidance on how to prevent these violations and what to do if they occur.
