On May 28, Ronie Schmelz and Paul Malie presented at the May 2019 meeting of the California Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) in Malibu, California. Ronie reviewed the regulatory landscape since last year’s landmark passage of the Farm Bill, which legalizes the growing and transportation of industrial hemp. Paul explored the main contractual issues and risks that companies face at each stage in the lifecycle of a CBD cosmetic product, including cultivating, manufacturing, testing, and selling.
