Carmen “Nuch” Trutanich Joins Tucker Ellis

The law firm of Tucker Ellis LLP is pleased to welcome Carmen “Nuch” Trutanich to its Los Angeles office as counsel.
Mr. Trutanich’s career encompasses more than 35 years of service dedicated to both the public and private sectors. He joins Tucker Ellis from the City of Los Angeles—the second largest city in the nation—where he served as the elected City Attorney from 2009 to 2013. Earlier in his career, Mr. Trutanich was a Los Angeles county deputy district attorney. In the private sector, Mr. Trutanich managed two successful law firms where he litigated hundreds of cases. Mr. Trutanich’s scope of experience enables him to offer clients a distinctive combination of legal counseling and litigation skills in governmental regulations, land use and environmental law, business litigation, and white collar criminal defense.

Throughout his career, Mr. Trutanich has tried more than 100 jury trials in addition to hundreds of court trials at the federal and state levels. During his tenure as Los Angeles City Attorney, the city experienced an unprecedented 92% success rate in civil matters brought to trial, saving taxpayers over $400 million.
A number of organizations have honored Mr. Trutanich for the legal successes he has achieved and his commitment to the community. He has held an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell in both legal skills and ethics for more than 10 consecutive years by his peers, as well as the Bench, and has been continuously recognized on the list of Southern California Super Lawyers®.
Mr. Trutanich received his law degree from South Bay University College of Law, and earned both his bachelor’s degree and M.B.A. from the University of Southern California.
