Carter Strang Quoted in Bloomberg BNA on Take-Home Claims

June 2016

On May 18, Bloomberg BNA quoted Carter Strang in its article, “States Split as California, New Jersey, Arizona Weigh Take-Home Blame.” The article focuses on the split in authority over whether to allow claims by plaintiffs alleging exposure to toxic substances brought home by spouses and others on their work clothing (known as “take-home” claims). The author sought Carter for an interview because of Carter’s co-authorship of “‘Take-Home’ Asbestos Claims: The Evolving Litigation Landscape, 6th Annual Jurisdictional Update,” published in HarrisMartin’s COLUMNS-Asbestos and available here.

“We’re just beginning to see more of these claims being asserted,” Carter was quoted in the BNA article. “Until courts draw a bright line, these will continue,” he added. “We could see take-home suits for silica, talc and PCBs.”
