Carter Strang Testifies Before House Subcommittee Against Proposed Legal Services Tax

March 2013

On March 5, Carter Strang testified before an Ohio House of Representatives Ways & Means subcommittee conducting hearings on Governor Kasich’s proposed budget, which includes a 5% tax on legal services. Carter testified as president of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, which was the first bar association to oppose the proposed tax, and was the first to provide testimony. The Ohio State Bar Association, in a prepared statement to its members, thanked Carter for his efforts on behalf of all Ohio attorneys. Read Carter’s witness statement to learn more about the proposed tax and its potential adverse effects.
