Evan Sotiriou Joins Tucker Ellis IP Department as Counsel in St. Louis

September 2021

Tucker Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that Evan Sotiriou has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Department as Counsel in its St. Louis office.

Mr. Sotiriou represents corporate clients in domestic and international intellectual property matters. A registered U.S. patent attorney, he has more than two decades of experience focusing primarily on patent preparation and prosecution. He assists companies of all sizes in developing and managing their patent portfolios, focusing his expertise in the technological fields of electrical, software, electromechanical, and mechanical inventions. Mr. Sotiriou is particularly experienced with technologies including computer networking and controls, computer hardware and software, artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks, image processing, virtual reality, semiconductor devices, online processing, wireless communication, digital imaging and processing, vehicle and aircraft control and safety, navigation systems, entertainment systems, printers, projectors, medical devices, medical diagnostic imaging, testing equipment, RFID, digital interfaces, document and data management, electrical connectors, antennas, and portable electronic devices.

As part of his IP practice, Mr. Sotiriou obtains and maintains strong patent protection by preparing patent applications for clients, advocating for them before the U.S. Patent Office and on appeals before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and with post-issuance enforcement of their patent rights. He has rendered opinions on many different patent issues and has represented clients in licensing matters and mergers and acquisitions. Also experienced with trademark matters, he prepares and prosecutes trademark applications and represents clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Mr. Sotiriou received his law degree from Washington University School of Law. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
