Missouri Lawyers Media (MLM) has selected Nick Clifford and Kelly Meredith among its 2021 Top Verdicts & Settlements (V&S) winners. Each year, MLM honors state-licensed attorneys who achieved the largest verdicts, settlements, judgments, and defense wins of the past 12 months.

Nick and Kelly were selected in the area of top defense wins for their defense verdict in Burri v. Western Robidoux, Inc. This lawsuit was tried in federal court in Kansas City for two weeks during the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020. The federal jury returned a complete defense verdict for all defendants. The verdict denied the plaintiffs’ claims seeking more than $3 million in damages against a commercial printing business and its clients, but also awarded over $300,000 in damages to several defendants on their counterclaims. The case was ranked the #2 defense win for 2020.
