The California Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (CaliSCC) has appointed Ronie Schmelz a regulatory counselor and board member.

Ronie regularly counsels clients to ensure compliance with regulations enforced by the Food and Drug Administration, Federal Trade Commission, and other regulatory agencies. She also represents clients in regulatory and legal proceedings, including consumer class actions. Ronie assists clients in formulating best practices for pre- and post-market activities, including regulatory compliance, product labeling, advertising, claim substantiation, Prop 65 compliance, insurance needs, vendor contract review, and consumer-facing communications.

CaliSCC is one of 19 chapters within a national society composed of over 4,000 members. Founded in 1945, CaliSCC promotes research in cosmetic science by setting high ethical, professional and educational standards to improve the qualifications of cosmetic scientists.
