Strang Elected to Central Committee of Cuyahoga County Democratic Party

May 2018

On May 8, Tucker Ellis Trial Department partner Carter Strang was elected to the Central Committee of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party, representing Precinct R in Shaker Heights, Ohio. The Central Committee is the formal governing body of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party and is composed of members who are elected every four years at the precinct level by registered Democrats. The members represent the people of their precincts to the Central Committee and serve as a link between the party, elected officials, and precinct residents.

A Shaker Heights resident for more than 30 years, Mr. Strang presently serves as a citizen member of the Shaker Heights Neighborhood Revitalization Committee, is a past president of the Shaker Heights Youth Hockey Association, and a former citizen member of the Shaker Heights Safety & Public Works Committee.

Mr. Strang created and coordinates the award-winning Tucker Ellis Pipeline Diversity Program. A past president of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, he established the nationally recognized Louis Stokes Scholars Program, which provides paid summer legal internships for college students who are graduates of Cleveland and East Cleveland urban public high schools.

Mr. Strang is also a past president of the Federal Bar Association, Northern District of Ohio Chapter and vice chair of The Center for Community Solutions.
