Drew Kemp defends product liability cases in some of the most difficult venues in the country.
Drew defends manufacturers and suppliers of a wide range of industrial and consumer products. He also serves on national and local defense counsel teams in mass tort litigation.
Drew’s creativity and attention to detail allow him to consistently develop winning defense strategies for clients. Using his experience and business education, he helps clients develop and maintain cost-effective and successful strategies to avoid taxing patterns of expensive litigation.
In addition to his product liability and mass tort work, Drew represents clients in contract disputes and property damage cases and defends work-related personal injury cases under state law, FELA, and the Jones Act. He also advises clients in contract negotiations.
In his spare time, Drew enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and pursuing his novice woodworking projects.

- Obtained voluntary dismissal for a commercial power generation client during an interlocutory appeal in a contested Illinois case (2020)
- Obtained numerous dismissals in premises liability actions on behalf of petroleum refining clients by utilizing statutory defenses and identifying predecessor liability (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019)
- Prepared a dispositive motion on behalf of an elevator manufacturer client in a Missouri case that resolved favorably for client (2019)
- Obtained multiple dismissals in Missouri product liability actions on behalf of an elevator manufacturer client (2017, 2018)
- Obtained dismissal for a railroad client based on statutory defenses in the federal Locomotive Boiler Inspection Act and Safety Appliance Act (2015)
- Served as appointed pro bono counsel for an indigent prisoner in a civil rights medical malpractice case in Illinois federal court (2015)
- Obtained numerous favorable resolutions for premises defendant clients by advising them on the use of state labor and workers’ compensation laws to defend against large claims by former employees
- Obtained summary judgment for a manufacturing facility in Western Kentucky after drafting and arguing a contested motion before a Madison County asbestos judge based on Kentucky workers’ compensation law (2014)
