Julie A. Callsen

Julie Callsen defends manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and medical products as both national coordinating counsel and local counsel, and defends hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in medical negligence actions.

Julie’s significant experience in handling issues that arise in such matters allows her to fully collaborate with pharmaceutical companies, healthcare systems, and physicians on a variety of corporate, regulatory, and administrative matters. She consults with pharmaceutical manufacturers on FDA regulatory matters, and frequently presents to medical and physician groups.

Julie started her career as a registered nurse in 1983, and has been both a staff nurse and a nurse manager. She has worked in academic and governmental settings and is keenly interested in the healthcare delivery system, reform efforts, and the legal issues involved. While in law school, Julie clerked for the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office in its Division of Health and assisted with the drafting of legislation. She considers her current legal practice a continuation of her role as a healthcare provider.

Julie and her husband recently moved to downtown Cleveland where they are enjoying active urban life. They like to travel and are planning to take some international trips in the near future.
