Kristen L. Chic

Kristen Chic is a client-focused litigator whose practice centers around complex business litigation, contract disputes, employment/ERISA matters, real estate litigation, and bankruptcy (debtor and creditor).

Kristen brings her broad base of knowledge to the table for each matter she handles and tailors her litigation strategy in an effective way to “get the job done” and “get the job done right” for every client.

Experienced in all aspects of litigation, Kristen engages in dispositive motion practice, taking and defending key depositions, conducting legal research and analysis, and drafting and negotiating settlement agreements. An effective communicator, she interacts with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel alike to reach favorable outcomes, with a kind yet no-nonsense approach.

Before joining Tucker Ellis, Kristen worked at a downtown Los Angeles litigation boutique where she managed a caseload of complex real estate and commercial litigation matters. Her practice encompassed representing title and escrow officers, brokers, buyers, sellers, property owners, and contractors in civil litigation disputes, as well as disputes with regulatory government agencies. She has represented high-profile clients ranging from one of the largest worldwide retailers in a Prop 65 matter to California’s largest county in quiet title litigation. She also frequently represented one of the nation’s largest title insurers and its insureds in lien priority disputes and actions to set aside fraudulent transfers or encumbrances.

Growing up near the Eastern Sierras instilled a love of the outdoors in Kristen. When she isn’t playing hard as a civil litigator, she enjoys hiking, skiiing, and kayaking with her family in the Mammoth Mountain area. Staying home is an adventure too: With two sons and three small dogs (affectionately named the “mini buffalos”) roaming the house, there’s always lots of love, laughter, and mischief underfoot. Kristen is grateful for all of the things in life that keep her sharp and on her toes, both personally and professionally.
