Susan Ly

Susan Ly assists pharmaceutical and medical device clients in product liability litigation.

Susan supports several Tucker Ellis life sciences litigation teams in matters in state and federal courts and in multidistrict litigation. She is experienced in conducting legal research and analysis and supports the litigation teams in all aspects of litigation, including discovery and expert witness depositions.

Before embarking on her legal career, Susan worked as a lab technician in the genetic quality control group at a large agricultural biotechnology company. In this position, she analyzed large data volumes and performed genetic purity testing in accordance with lab policies and procedures. She also helped managed document review and retention to ensure compliance with applicable quality standards and practices.

Before joining Tucker Ellis, Susan represented insurers in claims handling and coverage issues, particularly in the areas of professional liability, cyber liability, and employment practices liability. In this position, she developed her legal research and writing skills. Susan drafted coverage positions, responded to challenges, evaluated case exposure, counseled insurers on likely settlement value and cost of defense, and represented insurers at mediations and negotiations of settlements.

Susan enjoys hiking and traveling to new places. She also likes to read, listen to podcasts, and tend to her orchids and plants.
